The exhibition “Echoes of the Past: The Extinct Fauna of Pisão” invites visitors to discover the large mammals that inhabited the region during the Pleistocene and to learn about the transformations of the landscape over thousands of years. Through illustrations, photographs and scientific content, the exhibition presents species such as the wild horse, the aurochs, the cave hyena and the brown bear, exploring their role in past ecosystems. The exhibition also establishes a connection between prehistoric fauna and the current management of the Quinta do Pisão landscape, highlighting the importance of large herbivores in ecosystem dynamics and biodiversity conservation.
