DEAD POET SOCIETY return to Portugal on January 21, 2027, with a concert scheduled at LAV, Lisboa ao Vivo. The American band, which released their second full-length record, titled 'Fission', in January 2024 via Spinefarm Records, returns to Lisbon at a time when their presence in Europe has been consolidating more and more consistently, and already with an established relationship with the Portuguese audience. Formed in Boston in 2013, DEAD POET SOCIETY – Jack Underkofler on vocals and guitar, Jack Collins on guitar, Dylan Brenner on bass and Will Goodroad on drums – have followed a path that defies the usual logic of rising in alternative rock. Before gaining any significant attention in the American market, it was the Mexican audience that first adopted them, after discovering the band through a blog. Seven tours in Mexico followed, some as headliners, playing in small venues for a fan base built concert by concert and without any support from radio or significant media coverage. Recognition in the United States came years later, when they supported Andrés and then Badflower in 2019. It was precisely those intense years on the road that shaped what they are today live: a group with the physical pragmatism of those who learned their craft on small stages and in difficult rooms. As a result, DEAD POET SOCIETY gradually became a name to reckon with for those who appreciate more 'out of the box' rock, and 'Fission', which is still their most recent album, made music critics start treating them as more than just an interesting proposal with obvious references. Occupying their own space within alternative rock, the quartet's music crosses influences ranging from garage to progressive. At the center of this identity is Jack Collins' fretless guitar, complemented by Underkofler's versatile voice, capable of alternating between moments of restraint and passages of greater intensity without ever losing consistency.
