Cristina Ataíde has been developing an artistic work with an extraordinary multidisciplinary quality. Despite her frequent use of drawing, painting, installation and photography, it is in her sculptural work that the artist seems to reveal much of the formal determinations that inform her work. Fragmentos, presented at Galeria Quadrum, is an exhibition that deals precisely with this: the intention of a sculptural body that comes apart, remakes itself and reorganizes according to the plastic and, in some way, ethical principles that run through the artist's work. Starting from a single object, a set of large-scale marble sculptures is gathered, fragmented according to the fine balance between chance and drawing.
