Poesia em Quarto Crescente is a monthly cycle at Livraria Almedina Rato, curated by Tânia Fernandes. Each gathering takes place during the waxing crescent moon and brings together poets, spoken word performers and artists from other fields, creating unexpected intersections with the word. The cycle's first anniversary will be marked with the inauguration of a sound installation by musician Noiserv (David Santos). Installed in the garden, the piece, entitled a casa que Edgar deixou , stems from an idea by the curator, materialised by Má Lenha (carpentry and restoration project of Susana Monteiro and João Alves), with the sound installation in the hands of Noiserv. The object is a tribute to Edgar Santos, a bookseller at Almedina for 22 years, who will soon be leaving this space. The installation gathers the voices of authors who took part in the first year of the cycle, among them Maria Lis, António Poppe, Helena Caldeira, Ustad Fazel Sapand, João Silveira and Maria Brás Ferreira, who were invited to record poems and texts of their own authorship. Their words thus come to inhabit the little house, as a living memory of the encounters that took place throughout this first year. free.
