The End-of-Year Festivities are moments of celebration, sharing and tradition, in which food plays a special role. But do we only eat when we feel hungry? How do emotions, memories and social interaction influence our food choices? In this workshop, led by Lívia Alfenas, participants are invited to explore the relationship between food and emotions, reflecting on the most common eating behaviours during the festive season and discovering strategies to experience Christmas and the New Year in a more conscious, balanced and guilt-free way. Throughout the session, topics such as the distinction between physical and emotional hunger, the influence of emotions on eating behaviour, the signs of hunger and satiety, and the importance of developing a positive and flexible relationship with food will be covered. The practical component will include a sensory experience of mindful eating, using the traditional Christmas log (tronco de Natal) as a starting point to explore the senses, recognise the pleasure of eating and reflect on the importance of being present during meals. Free participation, subject to registration. Registrations and information via [email protected].
