Brief Introduction MAAT Youth Collective 2026-2027 NÓS NOS SÍTIOS: CORPO. LUGAR | Art and sport laboratory Mediation: Fabrícia Valente, Simone Longo de Andrade, guest artists. Youth Facilitators: João Gomes and Mariana Sousa, MAAT Youth Collective 2025-2026 The MAAT Youth Collective is an active participation programme created in 2021/22, in partnership with ICS, Universidade de Lisboa, within the scope of the research “Youth in Museums / Educational provision and professional training for youth in contemporary art museums”, by Carolina Silva. It has thus come to establish itself as a space where young people, the museum, artists and the city meet to think about and make culture. In this 2026-2027 edition, Nós nos sítios: Corpo. Lugar. Laboratório Arte e Desporto, proposes to think about the relationship between body and place starting from the different spaces we inhabit, cross and transform. What place does the body occupy in the museum, in the stadium, in the street, on the stage or in the city? And how do these places determine ways of being, seeing, acting and relating to others? From science to sport, from architecture to history and from culture to politics, the aim is to think and be together, expanding social, academic and professional contact networks. Each young person can design their own educational and creative path, through continued participation as a member of the Collective or by attending specific workshops. Each meeting is an opportunity to open new connections, test ideas, collaborate with professionals from different fields and build, together, a path that reflects the voices and interests of the group. The sessions, selected by each young person, may give rise to research projects, publications or other formats, based on the challenges developed throughout the year.
