Singer, songwriter and visual artist, Pedro do Vale crosses music, painting, drawing and scenography as forms of expression. He has already released an EP and several singles and has been distinguished with a Galp Energia Design Prize and a Galp Energia Arte Prize, establishing himself as a sensitive and multidisciplinary voice in the contemporary artistic scene. He was born in Barreiro, in 1990, and grew up between Ourém and Faro, developing from an early age a marked connection to art, influenced in equal parts by the rural environment, by the proximity of the sea and by his father, dedicated to the artisanal construction of musical instruments. He began, while still young, his studies of classical music at the Conservatório Canto Firme in Tomar. As a musician and composer, Pedro do Vale has been asserting an approach to art as a space of questioning, balance, sensitivity and connection, in which beauty also emerges from error and from overcoming it. He released his first EP, in 2021, “Umbilical”, produced by the Brazilian singer, musician and producer Paulo Novaes (Leo Middea, ANAVITÓRIA), distinguished with a Latin Grammy in 2023 -, followed by several singles and a show of music and poetry with Pedro Giestas. The singles ‘DVL’, ‘Não Sei Onde Vais’, ‘Sei de Cor’ and ‘Sininho’ paved the way for the long-awaited first album of original songs, which he presents at Casa Capitão. There are no seats, nor assigned seats, at Casa Capitão concerts. To guarantee a good position facing the stage, it is advisable to arrive early. And be ready to spend one or two hours standing.
