Synopsis My Body? My Sex! is a choreographic creation and an interdisciplinary research project that explores the transformative and liberating potential of the body, reflecting on gender, identity, sexuality, desire and the power relations that shape the way we inhabit and live our bodies in contemporary society. Starting from the question “Who does my body belong to?”, the show questions the social norms that condition the way we are, behave, identify and desire, seeking to imagine other ways of inhabiting the body and living identity, desire and individual freedom. This creation closes an informal trilogy about body, power and freedom, which includes A Hierarquia do Medo!, dedicated to violence and the mechanisms of domination, and Ei Toire Linde!, an insurgent dance for the liberation of male bodies and their historical and hegemonic stereotypes. In this journey, the body asserts itself as a territory of political and social questioning, moving from reflection on violence and power structures to the search for possibilities of emancipation and transformation.
