SISMO, SINAL is a workshop that explores the translation of the seismic signal into sound, image, sensory effects and material forms. Alexandre Estrela's Réplicas, on show at Galeria Zé dos Bois, serve as a case study for observing how scientific research and technical experimentation can be incorporated into artistic creation processes. The workshop will be developed by 11 students from the Master's in Fine Arts (Artes Plásticas) at ESAD Caldas da Rainha, under the guidance of artists with interdisciplinary practices and scientists from the fields of robotics and behavioural neuroscience, and includes a collective presentation of the experiments carried out.
