Sertec Tecnologia Acessível promotes the Festival do Braille (Braille Festival), a free event that aims to bring all of society closer to the Braille system, in its multiple dimensions: education, culture, technology, autonomy, accessibility and inclusion. Under the motto “Braille makes us fly”, the Festival takes place in a hybrid format: November 5 and 6 will be online and November 7 will be in person. The program includes sessions on research, teaching, Braille displays, books, music, mobile devices, accessible products and services, games and toys, as well as, on the in-person day, exhibitions, an Assistive Products Fair, workshops, awareness-raising activities, association stands, goalball and a closing show. The initiative takes on special significance as it coincides with the celebration of the 200th anniversary of the invention of the Braille system and with the recognition of the Learning and Use of Braille as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Portugal.
