Gilberto Gil, one of the greatest figures of Brazilian music, presents Amor Azul on 10 October at Coliseu dos Recreios. Conceived in collaboration with conductor and composer Aldo Brizzi, Amor Azul stands as one of the most ambitious creations of the artist's recent career. On stage will be Gilberto Gil, the Núcleo de Ópera da Bahia (which includes singers, percussionists and guitarists), the Lisbon International Symphony Orchestra and the Phydellius Choir, under the musical direction of Aldo Brizzi. Inspired by the Indian classic poem Gita Govinda, the work builds a singular language, where the pulse of Brazilian popular music, the architecture of the European classical tradition and the spiritual dimension of Indian culture intersect.
