Maximilian Hornung is one of the most notable cellists of our time, thanks to the combination of impeccable technique with a sound that exemplarily spans a vast palette of colours. Public recognition of his talent began with two consecutive ECHO Klassic awards, in 2011 and 2012: the first with his debut album and the second with the recording of Dvořák's Cello Concerto in B minor. It is to that captivating work, one of the Czech composer's final creations during his stay in New York, that he now returns in this performance with the Gulbenkian Orchestra and conductor Nuno Coelho.
