Lisbon, 1946. The bankrupt manager of the D. Maria II Theatre sublets the venue for various activities, while the company prepares a radio play to celebrate the institution's centenary.

Synopsis Lisbon, 1946. Mrs. D. Amélia had signed a public contract to operate the D. Maria II with a validity of 50 years. After ten years of liberality and careless management of public funds, the businesswoman, bankrupt as they say, is forced to sublease, in secret, the theatre and its dependencies to the most varied activities. To commemorate the hundred years of the institution, a radio theatre play is underway that tells the story of that century of life. The company is performing, for the Emissora Nacional, an original text by Laudelino Gomes, based on Memórias do Cárcere by Camilo Castelo-Branco. Its title is: Histórias dum bandoleiro. While the broadcasts take place, enhanced by the virtuosity of the cast, the inexplicable death of a young and mysterious sound technician occurs. Talk with artists on April 11.
