To mark the Fotocópia Original exhibition at Galeria 3, Fala Mariam has created two concert moments with musicians who shared their path with Sei Miguel over recent decades — the duo Sirius, Livio Tragtenberg, Joe Morris and Birgit Ulher — as both a tribute and a giving-back to one of the most singular musicians of Portuguese music. Free entry at the gallery atrium, subject to available seats.

On the occasion of the Fotocópia Original exhibition at Galeria 3, Fala Mariam has designed two moments with musicians who shared their path with Sei Miguel over the last decades. Without any claim to presenting themselves as complete, these moments illustrate affections and relationships of some privilege with one of the most singular musicians of Portuguese music of the last four decades, someone who dreamed and realised his music in a different, unique and adventurous way, open and rigorous, emotional and studious. The Portuguese duo Sirius (Yaw Tembe on trumpet and Monsieur Trinité on percussion), the Brazilian composer and sound artist Livio Tragtenberg, the American guitarist Joe Morris and the German trumpeter Birgit Ulher are a small example of a much larger community that received inspiration, stimulus or material for study from him, whether on a stage, in a long conversation, or in the simple sharing of an essential record. Sei Miguel was a mentor without ever having sought to be one, and so these guests and these concerts can be seen as a retribution, beyond a tribute. Gallery atrium. Free entry (subject to available seats). Free.
