The programme of Casa das Histórias Paula Rego is developed around the thematic universe of Paula Rego, presenting diverse exhibitions with the artist as its centre and reference. This programme line aims to highlight the boundless nature of her work, which is not confined to the field of visual arts, always crossing over into other artistic manifestations such as literature, cinema, theatre and fashion, privileged territories of the stories that inspire the artist. Less common is witnessing the reverse process, in which her multifaceted imagination takes shape beyond the canvas or paper, serving as the starting point for the Winter 2009/10 collection by designer José António Tenente. Selecting some of her works as a reference, in particular those with strong decorative elements, produced from the 1990s onwards, the collection was created and developed in a direct relationship with emblematic works by the artist, as will be the case with Anjo (Angel), from 1998.
