There are photographs that tell stories and others that remain for History. This is precisely the starting point of the exhibition 40 Anos | 40 Fotografias (40 Years | 40 Photographs), which arrives at Centro Colombo to mark the four decades of the Lusa Agency. Until November 9, visitors will be able to discover 40 images that portray some of the most striking events of recent decades, on a journey through the work of the professionals who recorded them. Inaugurated in May at the Assembleia da República (Portuguese Parliament), the itinerant exhibition has already passed through different points of the country, including Porto, the Algarve, Viseu, the Azores and Madeira. Now, it returns to Lisbon and finds in Centro Colombo a new space to showcase the work of Lusa's photojournalists, the only Portuguese news agency and the largest in the world in the Portuguese language. More than a photographic retrospective, the exhibition is also a tribute to photojournalism and the role it plays in documenting current affairs and preserving collective memory. By integrating Centro Colombo's programming, the initiative brings these images closer to a diverse audience, taking photography and history beyond traditional exhibition spaces. Monday to Sunday. collective photography.
