The concert 'Cancioneiro de Elvas' presents the first part of a hexalogy dedicated to the 16th-century Portuguese manuscript, with Sete Lágrimas and Sexta Maior performing villancicos, songs, and other poetic-musical forms from the codex.

Synopsis Hexalogy dedicated to the Cancioneiro de Elvas, a Portuguese manuscript from the third quarter of the 16th century. Divided into two parts, the project sings the 65 secular songs preserved in the codex: villancicos (or vilancetes), cantigas, tercets, and other poetic-musical forms (volumes 1 to 3) and proposes new music, by Filipe Faria and Sérgio Peixoto, for the 36 romances, glosses, villancicos, and cantigas that are found there without music (volumes 4 to 6).
