FLIFA - Independent Book Fair of the Arroios Parish

Friday 23 October – Sunday 25 October

Mercado de Arroios, Lisbon

The Independent Book Festival of the Arroios parish brings together more than 120 publishers, bookshops and collectives, accompanied by a programme of talks, workshops and other free-entry activities. From publishers with decades of activity to projects now taking their first steps, the fifth edition of FLIFA once again places side by side bookshops, collectives and publishers of different scales and trajectories. Among the participants in the 2026 edition are Exemplo Books and Planeta Tangerina, Péssima Editora and Zigurate, Livraria das Insurgentes and Edições da Cinemateca. This diversity manifests itself in the stalls, in the books that fill them, but also in the programming, built in collaboration with participating publishers and bookshops. Among the activities are a staged reading by Artistas Unidos in homage to Harold Pinter; the celebration of the tenth anniversary of the literary magazine A Morte do Artista ; a cycle of round tables on best-sellers, reading habits and literary festivals coordinated by Joana Márkus Neves; and a launch with live cooking and a tasting of espécies, a typical sweet from the island of São Jorge. For children there will be workshops on building pop-up books, creative writing and illustration, as well as an activity by Planeta Tangerina inspired by the Volta sempre! collection. free.
