The visit begins with a chronology that presents, in a concise way, the history of azulejo tiles in Portugal. From there, the visitor follows different paths of discovery through the Palace, observing the tiles in the spaces for which they were designed, at times in dialogue with pieces from the collection of the National Tile Museum. More than proposing a fixed route, Open Azulejo seeks to stimulate curiosity and observation. Each space allows one to discover different stories, techniques and solutions, but also traces of the passage of time and of the transformations that the buildings and their coverings have undergone. Tuesday to Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
