In VIDAS, Carlão celebrates the unity of all the lives he has collected — from 90s hardcore punk rehearsals in Cacilhas to concerts for thousands — in a recorded show of about 1h45 at the Coliseu dos Recreios.
Producer Radar dos Sons - Produções Culturais Lda Synopsis VIDAS As the years go by, it becomes increasingly common to use expressions like “eh pá, that was in another life”. In fact, it seems we go through life collecting lives from childhood into old age: convergent lives, parallel lives, or even ones heading in apparently opposite directions. At the same time, and almost paradoxically, it now seems natural to me to look at time as something self-contained, without beginning or end, and today it can just as well be a 90s afternoon rehearsing with a hardcore punk band in Cacilhas, or the day I write my first bar in Portuguese, as the first time I dance to house and techno in a club in the small hours. It can be the day I become a father, the day I play a concert for thousands of people, or the night I play for ten curious onlookers. Obviously, it can be (and truly is) a present full of new things. But one single time, all the same. The idea of this concert, then, is to explore that unity — not merely accept it, but celebrate it to the fullest, together with many of those who belong to it: on stage and in the audience.
