CORPUS CHRISTII and IRAE take the stage at República da Música, in Lisbon, to celebrate five essential titles of Portuguese black metal. On 19 December, República da Música, in Lisbon, hosts a night dedicated to two unavoidable names of the national extreme underground. In an unprecedented ritual of devotion, CORPUS CHRISTII and IRAE present special setlists centred on some of the releases that marked their respective paths in an indelible way, on an occasion designed to revisit some of the darkest pages of Portuguese black metal. Formed in 1998, the unavoidable CORPUS CHRISTII earned recognition inside and outside Portugal with a fierce and uncompromising approach to black metal made as its rawest and most orthodox tradition dictates. Led by the inimitable Nocturnus Horrendus, the band built a cult discography, with the so-called THE TORMENT TRILOGY taking on a particularly important place in its already long history. At República Da Música, the band will revive precisely the three chapters of that phase: «Tormented Belief», from 2003, «The Torment Continues», from 2005, and «Rising», from 2007. The IRAE, in turn, were born in 2002 as the personal project of Vulturius, asserting themselves through a raw, dark and visceral vision of the genre. The December concert will give special prominence to the demo «Avé Sathanas (I Was Born To Murder The World)», from 2004, and to the debut full-length «Terror 666», released in 2006 and celebrating two decades of existence this year. Two important records in defining the extreme identity of the band from Brandoa. Therefore, on 19 December, the devotees will have a unique opportunity to witness live two very distinct paths, united by the same devotion to the darkest forms of metal, in two performances focused on different phases of the careers of these two institutions of the national underground.
