Sunday is at the Quinta

Sunday 22 November

Quinta Alegre - Um Teatro em Cada Bairro, Lisbon

With music, food and the experience of learning to create something new, Sunday, 22 November, is a day full of reasons to go to Quinta Alegre and spend one or several hours. Once a month, there is a visit, workshops for adults and children, including a cooking workshop to cook a meal , and then taste it. In the late afternoon, there is a concert to close the day and start a new week. Sunday is at Quinta Alegre. Programme. Visit to Quinta Alegre. The tiles, the frescoes, doors that open from one room to another, the large windows overlooking the gardens. A journey through the interior of the palace and through the history of this place, inhabited in different ways over time. 10 am. Imagining is seeing again. Workshop for families with Madalena Galvão. Through tricks and windows invented in the manner of art-educator Corita Kent, participants experiment with seeing and observing with time. With what they observe on the walls inside Quinta Alegre, they create beings born of their imagination. 11:30 am. Palestinian cuisine. Workshop for adults with Hindi Mesleh, Café Ni'lin. Inspired by Ni'lin, the Palestinian village where he was born, Hindi Mesleh brings to this workshop the idea of a house open to everyone, where welcome and care are felt at the table. Between aromas, gestures and knowledge, Palestinian culture is celebrated and reflection takes place on respect, dignity and the place each person can find at a shared table. 11:30 am. I am here. Workshop for adults (from 16 years old). Graça Santos, visual artist, proposes a manual collage workshop for adults. Freely and discovering with scissors and glue the potentialities of already existing images, each person's identity is worked on creatively. 2:30 pm. Concert with Marta Hugon (voice) and Mário Delgado (guitar). The history of music is full of examples of women who played and wrote, however, one must dig deep to reach their names. In the concerts that close these Sundays, the name of women comes first: countering secondary roles, they take the lead or present themselves solo. The curation of this cycle is by Márcia Lessa. 5:30 pm. All activities require prior booking by email or telephone. Registrations and reservations: [email protected] 218 174 040. free.
