The Museu do Mar Rei D. Carlos presents “Enquanto Canto e Conto: A Manta do José”, a theatre piece that reflects on values such as longing (saudade), memory and family. Saudade is the love that remains... and it remained! Saudade is also the starting point for this story that dances with threads and needles. The play unfolds around José and his grandfather the tailor, and everything begins with a beautiful gift, at José's birth. It is the beginning of a story about growing up, the passage of time, affection and the importance of the memories we keep. The show is based on the book “A Manta do José”, by Miguel Gouveia and Raquel Catalina, published by Bruaá. It is also inspired by the musical universe of Jewish and Portuguese tradition, of Sephardic songs. For ages 3 and up. Free activity.
