Humanity in War is a project by the Amatis Trio that interweaves the performance of a set of musical pieces with the reading of war letters, drawing attention to those who lie behind the numbers of the armed conflicts that plague humanity. Based on a collection of letters and diaries from the First World War period, narrated by the legendary singer Thomas Quasthoff, the Amatis Trio creates a moving concert that transcends musical performance and proposes a profound relationship between art and the desire for tolerance, respect and dignity among peoples.
