Snarky Puppy, the five-GRAMMY-winning collective led by Michael League, return to Portugal for two concerts: at LAV – Lisboa Ao Vivo on 31 March and at Coliseu do Porto on 1 April. They present the new album Somni, recorded with the Metropole Orkest, in a show that blends funk, jazz, progressive rock, soul and gospel.

Snarky Puppy, one of the most innovative and acclaimed bands on the contemporary world music scene, are returning to Portugal for two unmissable performances in spring 2027. The collective led by bassist and composer Michael League takes the stage at LAV - Lisboa Ao Vivo on 31 March and heads north the following day, 1 April, for a show at the emblematic Coliseu do Porto. With a unique sonic identity that crosses funk, jazz, rhythm & blues, progressive rock, soul and gospel music, Snarky Puppy refuse simple labels. As The New York Times highlighted, "maybe you didn't notice, but this is the Snarky Puppy world, and we just live in it." Their time in Portugal comes at a moment of full creative maturity for the band, driven by the release of their most recent and ambitious studio work, Somni (released in November 2025 by GroundUP Music). The album results from a historic collaboration recorded live with the renowned Metropole Orkest in Utrecht, a reunion that took place a decade after the success of Sylva, the project that earned the group the GRAMMY for Best Contemporary Instrumental Album in 2016. "Our sonic universe has expanded drastically over the years," reflects Michael League. "Our golden rule is that the music can never sound like what we have done before; it has to feel like it is going somewhere."
