Snarky Puppy return to Portugal in 2027 with concerts in Lisbon and Porto. The five-time GRAMMY-winning collective performs at LAV (Lisbon) on 31 March and at Coliseu do Porto on 1 April. Snarky Puppy, one of the most innovative and acclaimed bands on the contemporary world music scene, are returning to Portugal for two unmissable performances in the spring of 2027. The collective led by bassist and composer Michael League takes the stage at LAV, Lisboa Ao Vivo on 31 March and heads north the following day, 1 April, for a show at the emblematic Coliseu do Porto. With a unique sonic identity that blends funk, jazz, rhythm & blues, progressive rock, soul and gospel music, Snarky Puppy refuse simplistic labels. As The New York Times highlighted, “perhaps you haven't noticed, but this is the world of Snarky Puppy, and we merely live in it.” The stop in Portugal comes at a moment of full creative maturity for the band, boosted by the release of their latest and most ambitious studio work, Somni (released in November 2025 by GroundUP Music). The album is the result of a historic collaboration recorded live with the renowned Metropole Orkest in Utrecht, a reunion that took place a decade after the success of Sylva, the project that earned the group the GRAMMY for Best Contemporary Instrumental Album in 2016. “Our sonic universe has expanded drastically over the years,” reflects Michael League. “Our golden rule is that the music can never sound like what we've done before; it has to feel like it's going somewhere.” Over more than two decades on the road and continuous evolution, the collective has won a global legion of loyal fans thanks to their technical virtuosity, contagious groove and electrifying live energy. The concerts in Lisbon and Porto promise a deep journey through this new album chapter, without forgetting the great classics of their discography.
